A gay man has claimed he was beaten by Shake Shack employees in Washington D.C. after they saw him kiss his partner inside the establishment.
Shocking video footage appeared to capture the moment Christian Dingus, 28, was attacked by a mob outside the fast-food restaurant.
He alleged his assailants were employees who incited the attack after he shared a kiss with his partner inside the Dupont Circle restaurant Saturday night. Dingus sustained concussion jaw trauma and other facial injuries during the attack.
According to Dingus, one worker became aggressive when he asked how long his food would take but the situation escalated when a second employee saw him with his partner. DailyMail.com reached out to Shake Shack for comment.
'While we were back there — kind of briefly — we began to kiss,' he told NBC News. 'And at that point, a worker came out to us and said that, you know, you can't be doing that here, can't do that type of stuff here.'

Christian Dingus, 28 alleged he was brutally beaten by Shake Shack employees in Washington, D.C.
Dingus said his partner then fought back and insisted they had done nothing wrong. He was then allegedly led outside by the employees.
He reportedly intervened to defend his partner which triggered the violent attack.
He said: 'And then one of the men, pretty forcefully, like, pushed me out of the way on my shoulder.
'Next thing I know, that kind of just, I think, sparked the rest of them. ... They all just kind of started attacking me at that point, dragging me back through the floor and continuously punching me in my head.'
The 30-second viral clip captured by a bystander shows a man being punched and shoved to the ground by two men wearing black t-shirts resembling the Shake Shack uniform. Two more people joined in on the action, but the video cuts out.
The video does not show was led to the alleged assault and what ensued after.
Dingus described the attack as a blur, recalling curling up on the ground to protect himself. A woman came to his aid as the assault finally subsided.
He also noted that police officers were nearby but did not intervene until the attack had ended. He subsequently provided a detailed statement to the police about the incident.
The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the incident as a hate crime, with charges of simple assault and anti-gay bias motivation filed against the suspect, according to the police report seen by NBC.
While Dingus reported being assaulted by multiple people, an unnamed suspect said he was defending himself after Dingus put his hands on the person’s neck, the outlet said.
Shake Shack has suspended the involved employees pending an investigation.

Dingus said the Shake Shack employee confronted them, stating that such behavior was unacceptable
'We are aware of the incident on Saturday, Aug. 17 involving team members and a guest at our Dupont Circle location and are taking it very seriously,' the spokesperson said in a statement Sunday.
The attack has shaken the LGBTQ+ community in the typically queer-friendly Dupont Circle neighborhood.
Dingus told NBC: 'You hear all the time that this stuff happens, but, you know, I started kind of believing that it didn't, right?
'I've been ... thinking of progress and how great that community is here, and then for that all to kind of be shattered, you know, kind of sucks.'
