Cast of popular 90s teen drama are seen all grown up 30 years after cult hit aired

It only lasted one season but the 90's teen drama My So-Called Life became a touchstone for a generation. 

Starring Claire Danes as 15-year-old Angela Chase, an angsty high-schooler in suburban Pittsburgh, the drama followed her struggles with her parents and friends - and her obsession with the toxic Jordan Catalano, played by Jared Leto.

My So-Called Life, which ran from August 1994 to January 1995, became a cult hit and launched the careers of Danes and Leto, but their other co-stars have for the most part remained under the radar.

Fans of the show were intrigued with the quirky friend  Rayanne Graff,  overprotective mom Patty Chase and the other cast members of the teen drama.

Now, DailyMail.com has caught up with many of them thirty years after the iconic ABC series aired - all grown up and living 'so-called' normal, happy lives. 

Even though the much-loved 90s series received an Emmy and a Golden Globe, My So-Called Life only lasted for 19 episodes, running from August 1994 to January 1995

A.J. LANGER (RAYANNE GRAFF) 

Last week, A.J. Langer, who played Angela Chase's chaotic best friend Rayanne Graff, was spotted heading to a meeting in Los Angeles, California, DailyMail.com photos show. 

Now, 50, Langer was dressed down in a zip-up fleece jacket, camouflage pants, and Birkenstock sandals. 

She wore her ashy brown hair in two loose braids and topped off her look with a trendy trucker hat. 

Prior to the appearing in the hit series, Langer had been known for her work in fellow 90s hit series including Baywatch and Fox sitcom Drexell's Class, in which she had a main role of Melissa.

She was spotted wearing a ring on her left wedding finger despite announcing her divorce from husband Charles in 2023 

Langer and Charles Courtenay - the 18th Earl of Devon - married in 2004 when he still held the title of Lord Courtenay. She became the Countess of Devon in 2015 through her husband's succession 

After My So-Called Life ended its run in 1995, she went on to land various smaller television roles including appearances on Seinfeld, Touched by an Angel, The Drew Carey Show, before retiring from acting in 2013. 

The former actress, who officially became the Countess of Devon through marriage, was wearing a ring on her wedding finger, despite being separated from her husband. 

Langer and Charles Courtenay - the 18th Earl of Devon - married in 2004 when he still held the title of Lord Courtenay. 

The couple had relocated to London in 2014 but announced their intention to divorce last year. 

LISA WILHOIT (DANIELLE CHASE) 

Lisa Wilhoit, who played the role of Danielle Chase - the little sister of Claire Danes' character Angela, remains based in Los Angeles as well.

She was spotted taking out the trash at her LA home. 

The now 43-year-old was dressed down in ripped jeans and a gray sweatshirt with her hair loose.

She carried some junk mail and what appeared to be a dog poop bag.

'My So Called Life' was Lisa's first TV role, where she played the humorous younger sister who looked up to her older sibling. 

She has since kept a low profile and is now best known for her voiceover work, playing various roles on comedy cartoon Family Guy.

BESS ARMSTRONG (PATTY CHASE)

Like most of the former cast members, Bess Armstrong, who played Angela's mother and actor Tom Irwin's on-screen wife Patty Chase, remains based in Los Angeles. 

She was seen on the move last week, catching a flight out of LAX airport. 

The actress, now 70, was spotted getting out a black car with her suitcase in hand before heading into the terminal ahead of her trip. 

Despite entering her 70s late last year, DailyMail.com photos show Armstrong has aged gracefully and looks sprightly and youthful as ever.

Danes and Armstrong have have maintained a close relationship over the years, with Armstrong supporting Danes in 2015 when she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

She was dressed casually but still looked stylish in dark pants, a yellow top and a gray cardigan, livening up her look with a chic scarf. 

The mother's complicated relationship with her on-screen teenage daughter was a common theme throughout the teen drama series. 

But off-screen, the two have maintained a close relationship over the years, with Armstrong supporting Danes in 2015 when she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  

She has gone on to land several lead roles in television films and shows since, most recently appearing in ABC's medical drama The Good Doctor before it ended earlier this year. 

TOM IRWIN (GRAHAM CHASE) 

Armstrong's on-screen husband Tom Irwin, who starred as Graham Chase, has also kept a lowkey lifestyle in LA since the show ended.

The 68-year-old was spotted taking his two dogs on a walk around his neighborhood in Los Angeles last week. 

The actor wore a vintage-style Champion hoodie and shielded his eyes with a pair of sunglasses.

At one point the energetic pups appeared to almost pull the veteran actor over during their walk

He chatted on the phone as he enjoyed his morning walk.

DEVON ODESSA (SHARON CHERSKI)  

Devon Odessa, who played Angela's childhood pal Sharon Cherski, was also spotted with a four-legged friend as she walked her Goldendoodle pup in LA. 

The actress, who turned 50 in January, was dressed casually in all black and enjoyed a stroll in the sunshine with a pair of Apple AirPod Max headphones in.

CLAIRE DANES (ANGELA CHASE) 

Danes, now 45, gained recognition for her role in the 90s hit, which earned her a Golden Globe for Best Actress as well as an Emmy. 

Compared to the rest of her former co-stars, she has seen more mainstream success since the show ended, landing high-profile roles on hit films including Romeo + Juliet in 1996, and more recently, the main role of Carrie Mathison in Showtime drama Homeland. 

The actress was just 13 when she filmed the pilot episode of My So-Called Life.

Claire Danes exuded teenage angst in the role of Angela Chase, who narrated every episode.  

In 2019 she shared memories of the experience that launched her careers in a piece for Variety to mark the show's 25th anniversary.

'We were all kind of venturing forth into a big unknown,' Claire said.

'I had just gone through junior high school. I felt bludgeoned, navigating my way through those social gymnastics. I was so bad at it'.

Homeland star Danes has gone on to enjoy a high profile Hollywood career, winning three Emmys and four Golden Globes along the way.  

The show followed the teenage trials and tribulations of Angela and her peers.

It is set to mark 30 years since the show's first episode aired on August 25. 

JARED LETO (JORDAN CATALANO) 

Jared Leto was every 90s girl's teenage dream as the hunky high school heartthrob Jordan Catalano.

Leto, now 52, played Angela's love interest and was the lead singer of a band.

He would eventually go on to imitate his own character off screen, by becoming the front man of rock band 30 Seconds To Mars from 1998.

The actor-singer kicked off his acting career with the 90s hit series but would go on to land a variety of roles  on the silver screen including 2000 psychological drama Requiem For A Dream. 

He also earned an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award for his performance in Dallas Buyers Club. 

Even though the much-loved series received an Emmy and a Golden Globe, it only lasted for 19 episodes.

The show concluded on a cliffhanger, leaving viewers devastated when it wasn't picked up for a second season.

WILSON CRUZ (ENRIQUE 'RICKIE' VASQUEZ) 

Wilson Cruz played the sensitive and troubled Enrique 'Rickie' Vasquez, the show's bi-racial and gay character who struggles with their sexuality and self-acceptance. 

His storyline made the series one of the first of its kind to weave serious issues including child abuse, homophobia, teenage alcoholism and adultery into the plot. 

Cruz, who is now 50, came out at the age of 19 and had been open about his sexuality while pursuing his acting career in the early 1990s.

He went on to gain further recognition after the teen drama through his roles in comedy drama Noah's Arc in 2005, Netflix's 13 Reasons Why in 2017, and his current gig Star Trek: Discovery, in which he plays Dr. Hugh Culber. 

Like many of his former co-stars Cruz is based in Los Angeles. 

He was recently seen attending The Social Impact Fund and The Hollywood Reporter 2024 Social Impact Summit in Hollywood in July.   

DEVON GUMMERSALL (BRIAN KRAKOW) 

Devon Gummersall played the awkward and nerdy Brian Krakow who was known for his unrequited crush on Angela Chase. 

Since the show's cancelation he has gone on to appear in several television shows including AMC's Mad Men and CMT's Nashville. 

Today, Gummersall, 45, is now a self-proclaimed filmmaker, content creator, writer, actor, surfer, and traveler, according to social media, where he has shared updates from his travels this year.
