Something old, something new, something borrowed, something... bright green?
A bride was left horrified after her dream wedding dessert turned out more swamp than chic - receiving a 'hideous Shrek-green cake that looked like a toddler made it' instead.
Casey Liming, 44, had enlisted a wedding networker to find a baker up to the task of creating an elegant naked cake.
The bride, from Indiana, chose a simple but gorgeous white sponge with raspberry filling, complete with a delicate amount of white frosting on the outside and a 'married AF' wedding topper.
Despite wanting a rustic-looking cake - and even sending 'inspiration' pictures to her networker - Casey and husband Nikk Liming, 47, ended up with the green monstrosity, which cost them $175.

'I trusted my networker to know what he was doing and get something done well because those naked cakes aren't hard to make,' the mom-of-two explained.
'It was supposed to be an elegant, paired-back naked cake, but it looked like a toddler had made it,' she added.
Luckily, the excited bride didn't let the mishap dull her big day.
'I never let it make me mad or upset me because it was the best day of my life,' she said lovingly.
'I did tell our networker '"that could have ruined some other bride's day,"' she added.
Describing her big day as 'a pretty traditional wedding with a very untraditional cake,' Casey said all they could do on the day is 'laugh about it.'
Casey arranged for the flowers, make-up, wedding cake and dessert table to be done through her wedding networker.
Even though she requested a white cake, the blushing bride thinks the baker tried to match her sage and plum color scheme - but didn't quite achieve it.

Despite thinking it was an 'awful cake,' the newlyweds were having too much fun to let it spoil their day
However, after the mishap Casey is urging bridges to always check the cake before it's revealed at the wedding reception to avoid the same thing happening to them
'My inspo pictures were what I wanted but my colors were sage and plum so I'm pretty sure they were going for the sage,' she theorized, adding she hadn't seen it before the wedding so it was way too late by the time she did.
'If I had seen it before I would have sent somebody to Walmart to get a different cake,' she quipped.

'Everything else he [the wedding networker] did was absolutely wonderful except that,' she gushed.

Casey is advising brides to look at their wedding cake before day of and ask more questions
Luckily, Casey was able to laugh about her green cake, sharing pictures to social media, where followers were astounded by the results
'It tasted good but it wasn't the wedding cake I was hoping for,' she admitted.
'My advice would be definitely look at cakes before the day of and ask more questions if you're going through a networker,' she advised. 'I'd never done it before so I didn't think to do that.'

'I just got married this past Saturday. The first two pictures were my inspo screen grabs for our cake cutting,' she captioned the pictures.
She continued: 'The green cake is what we somehow ended up with. It was awful!!! Tasted ok but wtf!?!?!'
'I mean, it's like a toddler made it! I'm glad that I'm me, and I didn't let it affect the best day of my life one bit. But it could have ruined another bride's day with how hideous it was!' the bride laughed.
Commenters shared their thoughts on the cake.
'Why is it Shrek green?! Omg that's awful,' one astounded user wrote.
Another commented: 'What in the Ninja Turtle?'
One wrote: 'What the actual hell? How do you look at a naked cake inspo picture, then say "to hell with it, ice that bad boy in guacamole?"'
Another added: 'You are FAR too chill, I would be NUCLEAR.'
One wrote: 'I can see not letting it ruin the actual day of your wedding but I would have been on the war path the minute that the fun died down.
'Mainly, I would want to make sure that nobody ever went through what I went through again. It is time for this "baker" to find a new profession.'
