A North Texan assistant principal was airlifted to the hospital after being injured by a student during a 'classroom disruption.'
Candra Rogers, an assistant principal at Collins Intermediate School in Corsicana, was flown to a Dallas-area hospital after the incident on Thursday.
The altercation occurred in a classroom with fewer than 10 students present but authorities have released no details about what led to the injury.
The campus was then placed on a 'hold' status meaning students were told to stay in their classrooms until officials signaled it was safe for them to leave.
No other students or staff were in danger, district officials assured parents in a letter from Principal Tiffany Boortz.

The Navarro County District Attorney's office confirmed that the male student had a detention hearing and is now under parental supervision with an ankle monitor, officials told WFAA.
Charges against the student are pending and will be determined upon completion of the investigation.
'We're just going to wait and let the legal system play out and hopefully Mrs. Rogers will be OK and back at work soon,' Corsicana ISD spokesperson Raymond Lenix said.

As a show of support for the Rogers family, the district will hold a 'Jeans Day' fundraiser on Friday.

Suggested donations are $2 for students and $5 for staff members.
'Jeans often mean comfort and style, but Friday they will mean more than that. Corsicana ISD staff and students can wear jeans on Friday as part of normal fundraising efforts on campuses,' the district said.
