Aaron Rodgers' bitter family feud takes huge new twist with New York Jets crowd revelation

Aaron Rodgers' feud with his family took an interesting twist last fall when they attended his Jets game vs. the Bills, it has been revealed.

According to author Ian O'Connor, who wrote the new Rodgers biography 'Out of the Darkness,' the quarterback and his parents have had 'virtually no communication' since 2014.

But his parents, Ed and Darla, put those issues to the side last September when they were in the crowd for Rodgers' first (and so far only) Jets appearance.

O'Connor wrote on X on Wednesday that the pair bought their tickets through the Jets, and sat near the 25-yard-line among fans who had no idea who they were.

Rodgers, who tore his Achilles in that game, is said to have been aware that his parents were in the stands.

O'Connor shared a photo of Ed and Darla clad in Jets gear before the game, and said they were engrossed in the contest despite their middle child not playing for nearly the entirety of it.

Rodgers' feud with his parents is said to be at least partly down to his previous relationship with actress Olivia Munn.

As O'Connor wrote in his book, of which an early excerpt was published by the New York Post, Munn sent Ed and Darla a voicemail in 2014 - after a seemingly smooth meeting with his parents before a game - saying that she didn't want Rodgers' parents meeting them in Tampa Bay or attending a game at the Bucs that they had previously planned to go to.

Ed and Darla informed her that they didn't need Munn's permission to attend his games, leading Rodgers to send them an impassioned email defending his girlfriend.

The book has also claimed that Munn rejected holiday presents from Rodgers' parents, while Darla, a devout Christian, was also said to be mortified that Munn was having sex with Rodgers before marriage.

Munn also spoke publicly in an interview about her sex life with Rodgers, which 'really p***ed off' Darla.

To O'Connor, Rodgers emphatically denied that Munn's presence led to a rift between him and his parents.

In fact, the Super Bowl champion suggested that the issues with his parents predated the start of his relationship with Munn in 2014, telling O'Connor that she 'has nothing to do with all the years before.'

A Munn spokesman declined to comment when contacted by DailyMail.com.

Rodgers also said that certain stories in the book were 'exaggerated over time' while speaking to WFAN hosts Boomer Esiason and Gregg Giannotti.

'There are some interesting stories I'm sure that will come out of it,' he said. 'And ones that are not based on a lot of fact, to be honest.'

'[O'Connor] was trying to do a really good job in getting the entire picture, but you have to put everything into context. I don't know what kind of book he's gonna write.

Rodgers' former junior college football coach also pointed criticism at perceived moochers in the quarterback's life, without naming anyone specifically.

'They just can't be hanging on your coattails their whole lives,' he said.

Rigsbee also told a revealing story about Rodgers' frustrations over younger brother Jordan 's role on ABC's Bachelorette.

The year was 2016 and Rodgers was taking part in a celebrity golf tournament near Lake Tahoe when someone in the crowd referenced Jordan, a former CFL quarterback-turned reality television star.

'Hey, are you Jordan Rodgers's brother?' Rigsbee recalled. 'F***ing [Aaron] looked over there and he was legitimately pissed off and shook his head.'

The problem, according to Rigsbee, was some people in Rodgers' orbit didn't know how far they were pushing him.

'People try to take advantage of you and pretty soon they do other s***, and then you get pissed off, and it's a tough thing,' Rigsbee said.

'Then they talk bad about you like, 'Oh, he's stuck up,' or, 'Oh, he abandoned me.' No, he's f***n' tired of taking care of your ass.'

Rodgers and his younger brother Jordan began speaking again in 2022, a source told PEOPLE, while the Jets quarterback and his father briefly reconnected at a celebrity golf tournament in 2022 in Lake Tahoe.
