Jenna Bush Hager has admitted that she finds Instagram 'addicting' and is going to delete the social media app from her phone in order to feel more like a 'present mother' to her three young children.

During Thursday's episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna, the 42-year-old revealed that she planned to follow in the footsteps of her twin sister, Barbara Pierce Bush, who recently removed Instagram from her cellphone and didn't miss it at all.

Jenna and her cohost, Hoda Kotb, were discussing wellness trends and the art of 'going with the flow,' when the mother-of-three opened up about spending too much time on her phone - which she sometimes struggles to navigate.

'I have to say, this is the thing that I think distracts me, but probably others, from getting in flow.... I bet you can guess it,' she explained to Hoda, 60, as they both said in unison: 'Staring down!'

Jenna continued: 'Staring at your phone. Sometimes when I feel like something's off, if I really am honest with myself, it's because I have been spending too much time [on it]...,' as Hoda replied: 'I feel like I've been doing that lately, actually.'

'Numbing!' Jenna said, before adding: 'So, when I feel like I am off a flow, I take Instagram off my phone. My sister has been off Instagram for... she is still on it, but she took it off the phone.'

The former First Daughter then admitted: 'This is what I have to do to get off of it... I have to have somebody else change my password because it's addicting,' before referring to her sibling once again.

'So, she gets it off and she goes, "I haven't had it on my phone and I feel like a present mother, I feel like I have been looking up, walking around, and running into friends, things that make you happy, happen."

'And she goes, "and I don't miss anything, all the things it gave me actually made me feel less joy," so I'm gonna take it off today!' Jenna confirmed.

Mother-of-two Hoda revealed that she's also trying to 'go with the flow' more, especially when she's heading home after a day at work.

'I walked home from here through Central Park and as I was walking I took deliberate steps. I slowed it all down, instead of like walking to get somewhere, I kept going, "one step, one step, one step,"' she explained.

'I felt like I got home in five seconds, it was the weirdest thing. I slowed it down because I read a book about walking slow, so I tried it. I observed, I saw, it was a great walk home.'

Jenna replied: 'Here's the thing, had you been looking or even maybe listening to a podcast or music, which is what we always do, but had you not been just really present, you wouldn't have been in the flow.'

The TV host's comments come just a couple of weeks after she took to Instagram to share her joy at becoming an auntie again after Barbara welcomed her second child

'My sissy had a little mister and I fell madly in love with Edward Finn!' she captioned the post, which featured a sweet pic of Jenna cradling the newborn in her arms while bottle-feeding him.

Subsequent pictures showed the sisters posing with Edward side by side, and a close up of his face while swaddled in a striped blanket.

Barbara already shares a daughter named Cora with her husband Craig Coyne, while Jenna has three children with her husband Henry Hager; Mila, 11, Poppy, nine, and five-year-old son Hal.
