A plus-sized influencer has clapped back at trolls who have slammed her and her boyfriend for being in a 'mixed-weight' relationship - as the content creator insists it's true love.

Nikki Edwards has made a name for herself as a lifestyle content creator who frequently boasts her day-to-day life online.

The Georgia-based influencer comes in at a size '3x/4x' and regularly shares snaps of herself parading around in gorgeous ensembles to help other curvy women learn to love themselves.

And after she started dating her doting boyfriend, Terrance, Nikki showed her fans that they deserve to be loved, no matter their size.

However, her constant affectionate posts have made the couple a target for trolls who have branded Terrance 'desperate' and claimed he was only with Nikki for her money.

While speaking to Truly, the lovebirds lifted the lid on the overwhelming amount of hate they receive.

'We're in a mixed weight relationship,' the couple said at the beginning of the video.

The duo explained that they met through their best friends, who are also in a relationship.

They revealed that they 'talked for six hours' on their first date.

They then discussed the shocking backlash they get on the daily due to their relationship.

Terrance said: 'This is not my very first mixed weight relationship, it's actually my third.'

Nikki - who began as an influencer in 2018 - noted that the hate was initially only directed to her.

'I do think society is fat phobic,' she admitted.

However, after she began sharing their love online, Terrance and their relationship quickly became a target for 'cruel' comments.

The couple read out some of the comments, which compared Terrance to a gold digger and even branded him 'desperate' because he was with Nikki.

Nikki also said that strangers often give then unwelcomed glances when the couple is out together.

She added: 'Sometimes the comments do get to me, he's there to kind of mitigate it and just help calm me down.'

The couple insisted that there are no ulterior motives involved in their relationship - adding that they love each other for their personalities.

Terrance said: 'I am attracted to plus-sized woman that's part of the reason I love Nikki but the main reason is her character more than anything.'
