Emhoff met Harris in 2013 when one of the lawyer's clients set them up on a blind date.
The pair was married less than a year later in a ceremony that included aspects from both Emhoff's Jewish faith and Harris' Indian heritage.
The vice president has been heard affectionately calling her husband 'Dougie,' or 'My Dougie.'
