Members of Vice President Kamala Harris' family did not applaud a line about her promise to make sure the American military was the 'most lethal' force on the planet.
Harris' stepdaughter Ella Emhoff and her sister Maya did not applaud the line was cameras cut over to her family. Other members of her family politly applauded while her husband Doug Emhoff applauded heartily, nodding his head.
'As Commander-in-Chief, I will ensure America always has the strongest, most lethal fighting force in the world,' she said. 'I will fulfill our sacred obligation to care for our troops and their families.'
Ella's response drew positive reactions from some of the audience on social media.

Ella Emhoff, 25, has publicly signaled her support for Palestinians in the Middle East, posting an Instagram link calling for donations to the The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), which has ties to terrorists. She has also reportedly been 'an active presence in pro-Palestinian circles.'
Harris carefully threaded her rhetoric on the conflict in the Middle East.
She spoke about Israel's right to defend itself even though the government has been criticized for the death of civilians in Gaza.
'I will always ensure Israel has the ability to defend itself, because the people of Israel must never again face the horror that a terrorist organization called Hamas caused on October 7,' she said.
News cameras did not cut to Ella Emhoff or her other family members to get their reaction to her comments about Israel or Palestine.
Harris also defended the Palestinian people suffering in Gaza and said she would work to ensure 'they can realize their right to dignity, security, freedom, and self-determination.'

Other lines of Harris' speech were very popular with her family members especially after she accepted the nomination for the Democratic nomination as president of the United States.
Ella Emhoff took the stage prior to Kamala Harris' speech, praising her stepmother for caring for her when she married her dad when she was a teenager.
'No matter what, Kamala was there for me. She was patient, caring, and always took me seriously,' she said.
Emhoff also praised Harris for listening to activists.
'She's fighting for social justice, health justice, and environmental justice, and she isn't alone, we're all in this fight together,' she said.
