Sabrina Carpenter was left very red-faced when a New Zealand radio host made a very 'cringeworthy' gesture while interviewing the pop star.
The Espresso hitmaker, 25, sat down with DJ Zane Lowe, 51, to promote her new album Short 'n Sweet but was left looking embarrassed at the start of the chat.
She appeared panicked when Zane suddenly whipped out a guitar as she tried to stop him from 'serenading her' in what has been described by fans as 'every girl's worst nightmare'.
During the awkward moment on The Zane Lowe Show, she gave him a shocked wide-eyed look and exclaimed: 'Oh, oh my God, what's happening? Oh no!'
As he began to strum out chords on his guitar, the panicked singer added: 'Wait, do you do this a lot? Are you going to serenade me?'
Zane then assured her that he wasn't going to 'sing at her' but would 'talk about where things start', before Sabrina nervously added: 'While... singing?'
'There's a lot of ways to start an interview and there's a lot of ways to start a song,' Zane bizarrely said as he began to play her own track Dumb and Poetic on the guitar.
'Oh no... I'm going to cry,' Sabrina said with a laugh, before adding: 'Did you learn this, right now?'

To which Zane - who stopped short of singing - pensively replied: 'The chords are ingrained in me, like they are millions of people because they're so beautiful, so amazing.'
After the 'cringeworthy' serenade, Sabrina politely thanked Zane for his tribute, but fans were left less than convinced as they branded the moment a 'nightmare'.
Taking to the comments section, one viewer said: 'The fear in her eyes when that man pulls out a guitar, every girl's worst nightmare.'
Another remarked: 'That was so cringeyyyyyy,' while a third wrote: 'I cringe every time Zane does this.'
A fourth said of Sabrina's reaction: 'She's so real for that tho,' while another added: 'Yeah... its kind of a nightmare, but her reaction made it.'
However, some fans saw the funny side of the moment and praised Zane for his lighthearted interviewing tactics.
'This banter?! Zane really knows how to make artist's feel incredibly comfortable,' one said as they showed the radio host their support.

Sabrina marked another huge career success this week after dropping her new song Taste and its horror-movie-inspired music video to resounding fanfare on Friday.
The video, in which she shares steamy kiss with Jenna Ortega, got more than 1.5million on YouTube in just three hours.
Meanwhile, the lyrics tell a story that may shed some light on Sabrina's own love life, as they reveal saucy details about an ex-boyfriend.
Although she does not name any particular man in the lyrics for Taste, she tells a juicy story about an ex who has gotten back together with a previous flame.
Sabrina's lyrics are addressed to the woman his ex has reignited his old romance with, and her message to her love rival is scathing.
'I heard you're back together and if that's true, you'll just have to taste me when he's kissin' you,' she taunts the other woman in the chorus.

The music video sees rivals Sabrina and Jenna repeatedly try to kill one another in increasingly gruesome feats as they fight over a man, played by Rohan Campbell.
At one point, the two women lock lips in a steamy kiss, before Jenna pushes Sabrina off and kills her, only to realise she has accidentally murdered her boyfriend.
The video ends with the two women sharing a cheeky smile as they walk off together, leaving the funeral of the man they were fighting over.
The video appeared to be inspires by Death Becomes Her, the 1992 camp classic starring Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn as two immortal women in a hilariously grisly feud.
Taste comes on the heels of rumours that Sabrina has dumped her boyfriend, Saltburn actor Barry Keoghan, over his 'party animal' lifestyle.
Taste comes on the heels of rumours that Sabrina has dumped her boyfriend, Saltburn actor Barry Keoghan, over his 'party animal' lifestyle
The couple were linked late last year and confirmed they were an item at a Grammys party in February, before Barry starred in Sabrina's music video for Please Please Please.
They have largely refrained from discussing each other publicly, but last week, a source claimed they have split because Sabrina had grown exasperated with Barry's partying.
'Barry acts like an idiot when he is drunk and Sabrina was getting increasingly frustrated,' an insider claimed of the split.
'He has always been a party animal and Sabrina was fed up with his antics. She is soaring in the charts and is putting herself first as she gears up for her tour next month,' the source told The Sun.
