They bearly lived to tell the tale! From panda attacks to a tiger mauling, the heart-stopping times daredevils got FAR too close for comfort at the zoo

Each year millions of people visit zoos across the world to marvel at the amazing animals the planet has to offer. 

However, while most visitors manage to keep a safe distance, there are occasionally some who do not.

This week shocking footage emerged of a woman jumping inside an enclosure fence and taunting a tiger before the beast brutally turns on her. 

She can be seen trying to entice the big cat at the Cohanzick Zoo in Bridgeton, New Jersey, with her hand.

The woman is now being hunted by the Bridgeton Police Department who released the footage on Tuesday.

 Pandas maul zookeeper with snacks 

In April a shocking video emerged of pandas attacking a zookeeper in front of screaming onlookers at a Chinese zoo. 

Footage shows the pandas running towards the zookeeper as she appears with snacks, with one of them biting her ankles before another knocks her to the ground.

Both animals climb over the terrified zookeeper and quickly bury her underneath them as they paw at her head.

The helpless worker rolls from side to side, hoping to get the massive pandas off, but only one of them runs away, while the other holds onto her and gnaws at her midriff in front of hundreds of screaming visitors.

Chimp throws bottle in girl's face 

A chimp was captured on video hurling a bottle through the air at a zoo in south China and hitting the girl who was filming in January last year.

The girl's mother said she had been enjoying her trip to Nanning Zoo before the mineral bottle lobbed by the monkey injured her eye. 

The incident caused a heated debate on social media, with some accusing the tourists of tormenting the ape.

Others said the creature posed a threat to humans and asked for him to be locked up.

Woman feeds Hot Cheetos to spider monkeys 

Back in 2021, a woman was caught on video jumping over a barrier to feed spider monkeys at El Paso Zoo in America. 

She was seen getting up close and personal with the apes before she fed them something, later identified as Hot Cheetos. 

At the end of the video, someone in a blue shirt helps pull her out of the enclosure.

Daredevil does backflip inside Rhino enclosure 

A daredevil jumped into a rhino enclosure and did a backflip in order to impress his viewers on TikTok in December 2020. 

A video shows the man arriving at Singapore Zoo while advertising his account to viewers, before someone else films him performing the stunt.

Fortunately, four white rhinos seen in the background pay him no attention and he escapes unscathed - although zoo officials later condemned the 'reckless and mindless' behaviour.

Wildlife Reserves Singapore, which manages most of the zoos in Singapore, said it had filed a complaint to police.

Woman enters alligator pit with young son 

Shocking footage shows a woman jumping into an alligator pit with her young son to retrieve her wallet. 

The wild moment was filmed at the Safari North Wildlife Park in Minnesota, United States in July 2020. 

The young boy can be seen running around the pit as other children watch and tell him to stay away from the dangerous reptiles.

As he continues running around, his mom can be seen trying to distract the alligators so that she can retrieve the pink clutch purse.

Man attacks bear and tries to drown it 

A Polish man attacked a bear and tried to drown it after drunkenly climbing into its zoo enclosure. 

The 23-year-old was caught on phone camera goading Sabina at a Warsaw zoo in Poland after it had lifted its coronavirus lockdown in May 2020.

Video footage shows Sabina skulking towards the seemingly oblivious man after he had broken into the enclosure.

The man then tries to dunk the bear's head underwater during a brawl that left the pair with minor injuries.

 Man mauled by tiger after falling in enclosure 

A man survived being attacked by a tiger after he fell into the animal's enclosure at a zoo in Saudi Arabia in December 2019. 

A shocking video shows the man on his back as the Bengali tigress mauls at his upper body at Riyadh Zoo.

The man was identified in local media reports as Mohammed Abdul Mohsen, a 24-year-old Sudanese expat.

Zookeepers were miraculously able to rescue the man from the pit but he sustained injuries to his neck and feet.

Woman mauled by jaguar as she tries to take selfie

A woman was mauled by a jaguar at an Arizona zoo after she leaned over a security barrier to get a picture in March 2019. 

Identified as Leanne, the woman said she felt lucky to be alive after the frightening encounter with a black jaguar at the Wildlife World Zoo, near Phoenix. 

She started crying out in pain when she tried to take pictures of the big cat when it was up against the fence. 

She was rushed to the hospital and treated for 'stable, non-life threatening injuries' that required only stitches.

Woman climbs into lion enclosure 

A woman climbed into the lion enclosure at a zoo in New York in October 2019 after she made comments about going to 'f**k with mother nature' at the park's entrance. 

The woman - who referred to herself as Queen Empress Myah Laree Israelite on Instagram - had been at the Bronx zoological park celebrating her birthday.

A shocking video shared on social media showed her inside the lion enclosure, repeatedly yelling that she loves the animals and even claims to have the same diet as the large mammals.

She was also accused of gallivanting with peacocks and giraffes at the site.
