Johnny Damon attended Yankees Old Timers' Day on Saturday - and fans are convinced the former outfielder was 'hammered' for the occasion.

Damon and other members of the 2009 championship team including Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez were honored 15 years on from their feat before the Yankees took on the Rockies at home.

But fans believed that Damon showed up to the event inebriated as the YES Network's X account posted a video of him doing a spinning jump in the air after being introduced to the crowd.

He then crouched down towards a camera a made a somewhat bizarre gesture towards it with his fingers.

The clip was captioned 'One of a kind' by the YES Network, but many fans did not find it amusing.

'One of a kind HAMMERED,' one said.

'He is a pig,' said another.

'Turd of a person,' added a different fan.

Another fan got even meaner: 'Get this drunk the f***' outta here,' they said.

'Johnny Damon should be ashamed,' claimed another.

Damon, who spent four years with the Red Sox before playing for the Yankees for the same amount of time, attended Boston's 2004 championship team reunion in April without any controversy.

He also attended the Yankees' Old Timers Days in 2014 and 2018.

While it's not known whether Damon actually showed up to Yankees Old Timers' Day drunk, it is true that he has struggled with alcohol at least on occasion following his retirement in 2012.

He was arrested for DUI in 2021 by the Windemere Police Department in Florida.

And according to an arrest affidavit viewed by CNN, Damon was nearly four times over the legal drinking limit as his blood-alcohol level was at 0.30 percent two hours after police stopped him.

He faced misdemeanor DUI charges but ultimately agreed to a plea deal that saw his charges dropped in exchange for a donation to charity and community service, according to TMZ.
