Mexican boxing great Julio Cesar Chavez Sr has stepped into the ring to congratulate Mayweather on his simple night at the office.
Floyd is showing plenty of admiration the legendary former champion after also paying respect to Gotti.
'This is the guy that paved the way. He's one of the best Mexican fighters of all time.'
But he's ruled out a potential exhibition with him!
Fans are starting to make their frustrations known with the lack of action in there tonight as they boo at the start of the eighth and final round.
Gotti responds by unleashing some desperate late shots, but they're nowhere near accurate enough to trouble Mayweather.
The final bell sounds - and as it's an exhibition, there'll be no winner on the scorecards!
The crowd are jeering Jimmy Lennon Jr as he concludes the event. They're not happy with what they've seen tonight.
It's very difficult for either man to build any momentum in these two-minute rounds.
Mayweather is coasting his way through them, although Gotti landed a couple of solid shots to head and body in the fourth.
But if this goes on for another four rounds, the former four-weight world champion is in for another easy night's work.
What on earth is going on?!
This exhibition is descending into another farce as Mayweather fumes after the referee deemed him to have struck Gotti on the back of the head.
He's absolutely livid with that call, and Gotti is now taking his time in the corner as is his right.
Incredibly, we now look to have a new referee in the ring too!
Floyd was not at all happy with the last official and seems to have swapped him for a backup ref. Just when you thought you'd seen it all...
It's a comfortable opening round for Mayweather as expected.
The boxing legend is slowly easing himself into this one, with Gotti enjoying a very brief flurry at one stage. But it's clear who's in control.
There's some confusion at the end of the round as Gotti and Mayweather seem bemused at the fact it's over after two minutes!
Did no one tell them?
His best days may be long gone, but it goes without saying that Mayweather is one of the greatest fighters in the history of boxing. He considers himself the greatest.
And it's tough to argue against him when looking at his illustrious CV.
FLOYD MAYWEATHER ACHIEVEMENTS
John Gotti, the late grandfather of Mayweather's opponent tonight, remains one of the most powerful mob bosses of all time 22 years on from his death.
Gotti was the head of the feared Gambino crime family. He was sentenced to life in prison in 1992 after being convicted of murder and other counts, before dying behind bars a decade later.
Ahead of his rematch with Mayweather, Gotti III revealed what his grandfather would have made of the mass brawl that broke out last time.
“He would’ve wanted to rip Floyd’s head off, you know, when all that stuff’s going down.'
“I’m fighting to get respect for my name and make a positive, you know, impact on my family, so I’m sure he [grandfather] could appreciate that.'
