NBA champion Matt Barnes has revealed that his son Isaiah was forced to undergo emergency appendix surgery this week - after being hit by a car days before.
Barnes, who wrapped up a lengthy playing career in 2017, shared to Instagram on Sunday that his teenage son was hit by a car while jogging on Wednesday.
The former Lakers and Clippers forward said that Isaiah then had a bad stomach ache on Friday, and tried to play through the pain at the Mamba Invitational - a basketball tournament which is named after Barnes' former teammate Kobe Bryant.
However, Isaiah 'couldn't sleep' on Friday, leading him to inform his mother of the pain before Barnes brought his son to the emergency room.
There, the doctor said Isaiah had 'the largest appendix he had ever seen that hadn’t ruptured,' and the teenager underwent emergency appendix surgery.
