Grumpy male lion bares his fangs after being woken up by his three adorable cubs play fighting

A grumpy male lion snarled at his three cubs after they woke him up while play fighting with each other. 

He was getting some rest at Masai Mara National Park in Kenya when he was rudely disrupted by the young cubs.

Their play fighting got a little too aggressive and they ended up on top of their father who quickly woke up and showed his displeasure.

The male lion bared his canines at the cubs as they tried to get him to join in on the playful action.

They tried to pin each other down with forceful tackles to the ground before they ventured over to the male lion.

The trio jumped on him to get him to join in but he was left angry at being woken up and bared his sharp teeth. 

Camilla Malvestiti spotted the encounter on her safari and captured photos of the moment the playful cubs annoyed their father.

'The cubs woke up the male lion, jumped on him and tried to get him to play with them,' she said.

'The male lion's expression was funny and cute, almost the same reaction that would a human dad have if his kids had abruptly woken him up.

The tour operator added: 'Play-fighting is an important part for growing cubs as they learn skills that will be helpful when they'll become adults.

'Seeing animals interact with each other is interesting as it teaches you something about their behavior.' 

Lion cubs practice their hunting techniques, improve their coordination, and strengthen their muscles while playing which are crucial for their survival skills.
