Dramatic footage shows the moment a California man accused of decapitating his parents and their dog started singing 'What's Love Got To Do With It' while covered in blood on the ground - before being shot by police.
Joseph Gerdvil, 41, belted out the hit as he lay bleeding out after Orange County Sheriff deputies shot him several times in the torso outside San Juan Mobile Estates on July 9.
The disturbing interaction came moments after the cops discovered the headless bodies of his parents - Ronald Gerdvil, 77, and Antoinette Gerdvil, 79, along with their mutilated dog inside their mobile home.
Grisly footage shows cops intercepting Gerdvil in the middle of a road as he charged toward them on foot while babbling incoherently and holding an unidentified object.
An officer shouted at him several times to get on the ground, but Gerdvil didn't listen.

The first three bullets had little effect on Gerdvil, who continued appraching them.
The fourth floored him - he dropped to the ground with blood pouring from his abdomen.
Cops shouted at Gerdvil to roll onto his stomach. Finally, he obeyed. Moments later, Orange County Sheriff deputies rushed over to render aid.
Gerdvil continued muttering, saying: 'I love you. I'm sorry you're going to have to die.
Then, he made a sad plea.
'Just finish me off,' the 41-year-old muttered moments later. 'Put one in my head, please. I beg of you.'
As cops rushed to cover his wounds, Gerdvil started belting out love songs.
'What's love got to do with it, got to do with it? What's love but a second-hand emotion?' he sang from the 1984 Tina Turner hit, before starting a Stevie Wonder song.
'I just called to say I love you,' he sang from the track of the same name, also from 1984.
Cops intercepted Gerdvil after he allegedly attacked a maintenance worker following the murders of his parents, and he threw a heavy shovel at cops moments before the bodycam footage begins, police said.
The shovel can be seen lying on the ground nearby.
Orange County Sheriff's Department said he was taken to the hospital and stabilized.
He has been charged with homicide over the deaths of his parents.

Neighbors at San Juan Mobile Estates described the family as friendly and quiet
A motive for the brutal decapitations remains unclear.
But neighbor David Desmond said he saw Joseph fighting with his father the day before.
He described to Fox 11 how the younger Gerdvil was 'in his face' and 'looked angry' while confronting his father on Monday.
Another neighbor, Bob Demario, also claimed Joseph 'had a drug issue.'
'That's why he lived there and they kept him there,' Demario claimed.
Online, Joseph made a number of unhinged posts about Jehova's Witnesses and posted dissonance music on YouTube - including one on Monday entitled Shots Fired and another named Pope on a Rope, with a picture of the pope being hanged.
Others described the family as friendly and quiet.
'The lady that lived there walked her dog all of the time in the neighborhood,' Tammy Pavese said. 'Everybody knew who he was.'
Victoria Alford also said Antoinette and Ronald were a 'very sweet couple.
'And at that age to tragically be murdered by your own son is just tragic, period,' she said.
