Donald Trump plans to name Robrt F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard to his transition team.

The duo will join J.D. Vance and Trump's sons as part of the group that selects the policies and personnel of any second Trump administration, the New York Times reported.

'I’ve been asked to go on the transition team, you know, and to help pick the people who will be running the government,” Kennedy told Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News host, in an interview posted on X.

The two had spent much of their public life as progressive Democrats. But RFK Jr. endorsed Trump last week when he ended his presidential bid. Gabbard endorsed Trump on Monday.

Harris campaign disputes debate mics being muted issue has been resolved

Sarah Ewall-Wice, Senior U.S. Political Reporter:

While Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that he reached an agreement with ABC News for the debate on September 10 and the rules will be the same as the CNN one in June, the Harris campaign disagrees.

'Both candidates have publicly made clear their willingness to debate with unmuted mics for the duration of the debate to fully allow for substantive exchanges between the candidates - but it appears Donald Trump is letting his handlers overrule him. Sad!' a Harris campaign spokesperson responded.

In his post, the ex-president claimed 'The Rules will be the same as the last CNN Debate' which signaled that the mics would be muted as they were in June when candidates were not speaking.

But the Harris campaign has called for the mics to remain open for the upcoming debate.

The conversation with ABC News regarding the mics remains ongoing.

Breaking:Special counsel charges Trump again in election case

Special Counsel Jack Smith has charged Donald Trump in a superseding indictment in his federal election subversion case.

The move comes after the Supreme Court granted the former president substantial immunity from prosecution for acts that are ‘core’ to his official duties.

A spokesman for Smith told NPR that the superseding indictment was presented to a new grand jury, which had not previously heard evidence in the case.

The spokesman said the new indictment ‘reflects the Government’s efforts to respect and implement the Supreme Court’s holdings and remand instructions.’

Trump has denied all the charges against him.

It contains the same four core charges against the former president for trying to subvert the election: Conspiracy to defraud the U.S.; conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding; obstruction of an official proceeding; and conspiracy against rights.

But it is pared down to comply with the Supreme Court ruling.

For instance, it removes the allegations of how Trump allegedly sought to use the Justice Department in his efforts to overturn the election -- which was explicitly mentioned in the Supreme Court's ruling as falling within his official duties.

The superseding indictment is 36 pages, while the original indictment was 45 pages.

Kamala Harris has hired a stylist to the stars to help craft her presidential image.

The Democratic presidential nominee has tapped Leslie Fremar, stylist to Charlize Theron and Jennifer Connelly, to craft a low-key chic look that doesn’t scream elite, Puck reported.

Fremar was at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago where Harris stunned in custom Chloe pantsuits, including a navy blue one she wore the night she accepted the party’s nomination.

“She needs to get dressed, and Leslie offered to help,” is what one source told Puck of their relationship. “Do we think this is important information?”

Harris has worked with stylists in the past as have many other female politicians, including Michelle Obama.

Kamala Harris is rewriting the story of where she REALLY grew up

Charlie Spiering, Senior Political Reporter

If you watched the Democratic National Convention, you would come away with the notion that Vice President Kamala Harris was the child of Oakland, California with a middle class upbringing instead of an upbringing in the radical left academic community of Berkeley.

Breaking:Donald Trump says he has agreed to the ABC News debate in Pennsylvania

Former President Donald Trump says he has reached an agreement to debate Kamala Harris on ABC News on September 10.

The debate had been set to take place already, but the campaigns were in a public dispute over the rules.

Harris' team wanted mics left on when it was not a candidate's turn, while Trump wanted them unmuted.

The ex-president said ABC News is keeping the rules the same as when CNN hosted the debate between Trump and President Biden in June.

During that debate hosted by CNN, mics were muted for candidates when it was not their turn to answer a question.

Melania's cryptic tweet

Melania Trump posted a cryptic tweet about how New York City is her home.

She made the declaration on social media, adding a photo of the city.

The Trumps moved to Florida after Donald Trump lost the 2020 election and became official residents there. The couple voted in the Florida primary earlier this year.

'New York City captivated my heart the moment I arrived, 28 years ago today. This electrifying town isn't just my home; it's a colorful canvas where dreams come alive. New York’s iconic skyline and vibrant culture inspire me every day,' Melania wrote.

But, before they lived in Florida, the Trump home was in Trump Tower. Melania Trump was seen there last week. And Donald Trump revealed their son Barron would go to college in New York, although he declined to say which one.

Is a Biden-Xi meeting on the menu?

Jake Sullivan, President Joe Biden’s national security adviser, is in China to meet over the next two days with Wang Yi, a senior foreign policy official for Chinese leader Xi Jinping, in a scenic lake area on the northern outskirts of Beijing.

He will discuss working with China on limiting the spread of fentanyl and expanding high-level military contacts. Sullivan will also stress the U.S. position on Taiwan and its concerns about China’s support of Russia.

No major announcements are expected, although Sullivan's meetings could lay the groundwork for a possible final summit with Xi before Biden steps down in January.

It’s unclear if Sullivan and Xi will meet while Sullivan is in country.

If Biden doesn't make a state visit, he would be the first president not to travel to China since President Jimmy Carter. If he can’t make it there, the two leaders could meet up at the APEC summit in Peru in November.

Biden has visited China before, when he was vice president in 2011, a trip remembered for the fact Hunter Biden travelled with him and was later accused of using the trip to benefit his businesses.

Trump explains to Dr. Phil why the media 'demonizes' him and which target group of voters MUST get out to vote

Ex-President Donald Trump told Dr. Phil in a clip of an interview airing tonight:

I said to the Christians, we’ve gotta win this election. If we win this election, I’ll straighten everything out in less than 4 years by a lot. Then you don’t have to, it doesn’t matter.
In other words, I’m saying you don’t have to vote- it doesn’t mean we’re not gonna have elections! You’re gonna have elections, but you have to vote this time, because we have to win. This is the most important election in the history of our country.

Kamala Harris' flip-flop on major issue she once called 'medieval'

Kamala Harris has repeatedly said she would shut-down Donald Trump's border wall project.

But now that she is the Democratic presidential nominee, Harris has vowed to sign a bill that would allocate hundreds of millions of dollars to continue building a wall along the southern border.

Materials for Trump's wall sit and decay in border states ever since the construction came to a screeching halt when President Joe Biden and Vice President Harris took office in 2021.

The flip-flop came during her speech at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago last week where the vice president said on Thursday she would sign the bipartisan border security bill that Republicans killed.

Sen. James Lankford, who negotiated the bipartisan border bill, told Axios:

It requires the Trump border wall.
It is in the bill itself that it sets the standards that were set during the Trump administration: Here's where it will be built. Here's how it has to be built, the height, the type, everything during the Trump construction.

Trump assassination task force has even MORE questions after visiting Butler rally site as chair doesn't rule out 'criminal negligence'

By Katelyn Caralle, Senior U.S. political reporter in Butler, Pennsylvania

The Donald Trump assassination task force is leaving Butler, Pennsylvania with more questions than answers after touring the grounds where the ex-president was shot last month.

Several in the bipartisan group noted to press their shocked at the sheer proximity of the building where Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, perched close to the rally stage where Trump was speaking on July 13.

They climbed up onto the roof of the AGR building where Crooks opened fire just a few hundred feet from the former president and shoot Trump in his right ear.

The lawmakers spent time walking around the rally site to 'get an understanding of the physical space' and 'where this security shortcoming took place,' as Rep. Laurel Lee, R-Fla., explained.

'And I'll tell you, for many of us, it raises more questions than we came here with today, because we can see it's not a large place,' she added.

Kamala Harris has just four days until her self-imposed deadline for a sit-down interview

By Katelyn Caralle, Senior U.S. Political Reporter

The self-imposed deadline for Kamala Harris to finally engage in a sit-down interview is quickly approaching.

There are only four days until the end of August – and earlier in the month the vice president told reporters traveling with her in Michigan that she hoped to sit down for an extended interview before month’s end.

It’s been 37 days since Harris entered the 2024 race and in that time, the vice president has not engaged in a sit-down interview or held a formal press conference to field questions from members of the media.

And Donald Trump’s team has not let supporters forget that Harris hasn’t been open with the media since launching her campaign just last month.

The Republican ticket has started leaning into their openness with the press and is holding more media availabilities than ever. Vice presidential nominee Sen. J.D. Vance even began taking questions from reporters during his campaign stops in front of supporters.
