An eight-month pregnant woman was put in a chokehold and dragged around her house by an intruder in Houston.

Lily Garza, 31, was sleeping inside her East Houston home around 4pm on August 15 when she awoke to find a strange man standing in her room, who pushed her down on the bed when she tried to get up, she told KHOU 11

'He just told her to like: "Don't do anything stupid, to lay down, don't move,"' her husband Cesar told the outlet.

Instead, she ran downstairs screaming: 'I'm pregnant! I'm pregnant! I'm pregnant!' before the armed man, who has not been identified, grabbed her, put her in a chokehold, and dragged through her home as her two dogs ran around, surveillance footage shows.

He was seen violently dragging her through her living room, jostling chairs before slamming her into the ground.

'Even though you can see my belly, he wasn’t listening,' she told KHOU 11. 'He didn’t care, he didn’t care at all.'

The intruder then left the home through the backdoor, jumping on the transformer box and hopping the fence. He was later seen running through a parking lot.

He gained access to the home through a window, surveillance footage released by Houston Police shows.

Garza's baby was not injured in the fall, she told the local outlet. She is due any day now.

'Baby is good, baby is good,' she said.

The suspect has been described a short Hispanic man in his 40s or 50s.

'I really want him to get caught because the fact that he did it in broad daylight and the fact that he wasn't afraid to put his hands on a pregnant woman, you wouldn't know what he would do to someone who isn't pregnant,' she told the outlet.

She believes he picked her home thinking it was empty and suspects he's responsible for other crimes.

Houston CrimeStoppers are offering a $5,000 reward for information. He's wanted for aggravated home robbery.

Garza now says she felt safer in El Salvador than she does in Houston.

'I was safer, felt safer in El Salvador than how I felt that day in my own house,' she said.
