A woman was taken aback after her partner shamed her for taking a lengthy shower - accusing her of wasting water.
'AITA for taking a 26-minute shower?' the woman titled a post on Reddit's notorious AmItheA**hole forum.
'My partner lost their s**t over how long I'd been in the shower,' she began.
She elaborated that she has 'longer thick hair' and was taking a 'full body shower,' including 'washing, conditioning hair, shaving all, washing my body, my face, and then got out.'

'AITA for taking a 26-minute shower?' the woman titled a post on Reddit 's notorious AmItheA**hole forum
'My partner said they were running the sink for as long as I was in the shower and asked if I noticed how much water was wasted then,' she went on.
'I asked how I'd be able to hear that run while I was in the shower,' with her partner responding, '"Exactly."'
It was unclear what point her partner was trying to make in running the sink for the duration of her shower.
She then looked at how many songs on her playlist she'd gone through while taking her shower, and calculated she'd been showering for a little over 25 minutes.
The woman went on to clarify that only the two of them live in the home, which has two full bathrooms.
He'd showered the night before, while she'd showered this morning, and they 'had no plans for the day.'
She clarified: 'I take this length shower once every three to four days, I don't shower every day (because I work from home), but if I do - I'm under 10 minutes with body washed and hair shampooed for a regular wash.'
She then asked of Reddit: 'AITA for taking 26 minutes to "full body" shower?' - with AITA short for 'Am I The A**hole?'
Through nearly 5,000, the consensus was that the woman was not in the wrong, with many dubbing her NTA - short for Not The A**hole
Through nearly 5,000 comments, the wide consensus was that the woman in the situation was NTA - short for Not The A**hole.
'NTA. He thinks you're the AH for wasting water but he kept the water running for the entire time? Worst. Water. Policing. Ever,' one top-voted comment declared.
A second narrated: 'NTA. My friend was complaining his gf taking too long showers, five minutes should be enough. I asked my other friends, who is bald, hairy guy with kinda bad skin and sometimes smelly, "how long you shower?" "Five minutes" he replied. Turned to my complaining friend, "So you want your girl looking like him?" No more complaining.'
A third chimed in: 'NTA. Your partner intentionally wasted water to "teach you a lesson." This is one scary logic, and two if you don't pay the water bill really really dumb. If you do pay the water bill, I'd ask them to compensate you for wasting water.'
To this, the woman answered that she was in fact the one who paid the water bill - and was still lost as to why her partner would run the sink alongside her shower to make a point.
A fourth echoed: 'NTA, that isn't a very long shower at all to do your hair, shave etc. My showers are 15/20 minutes without washing my hair. And those saying turn it off in between each step… what and be freezing cold?'
A fifth agreed: 'NTA. If you have long hair, that's not long. But the issue is not the length of your shower. Your partner is not your owner and you are not his slave. You are equal partners. You get to decide on your own how long you need to shower.'
