A classroom full of terrified kindergarten students and teachers frantically ducked for cover as an army of gunmen opened fire nearby in southern Mexico.
Surveillance footage showed the heavily armed gunman arriving on pickup trucks and unleashing a hail of bullets at the Samher’z Medical Clinic in Beneméritos de las Américas, a town in the state of Chiapas, across the border from Guatemala, on Wednesday, according to media reports.
During the barrage, a separate video taken from inside a nearby classroom showed adults and mostly young children cowering on the floor as gunshots ring out for more than a minute.
