Hickory Hollow Jerky is recalling approximately 6,229 pounds of ready-to-eat jerky because they were produced without the required federal inspection.

The beef and bacon jerky products were manufactured between January 19th and August 21st, 2024.

This issue stems from a change in ownership at the company on June 11th, 2024. Two different owners operated the establishment during this time, and neither had the products inspected.

The company name and product names remained unchanged throughout this period.

The recalled jerky products bear the establishment number 'EST. NO. 34550' and were distributed to retailers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and online

The issue was identified during routine FSIS inspections. Despite requesting to stop federal inspections, the company continued to produce jerky and label it with the USDA mark.

There are no confirmed reports of adverse reactions from consuming these products.

If you have any concerns, the company urges consumers to consult a healthcare professional, per their website.

FSIS also urges consumers to check their pantries for the recalled jerky. Do not eat these products. Throw them away or return them to the store where you purchased them.

FSIS is actively monitoring the recall to ensure the company notifies customers and removes the product from stores. A list of affected retailers will be posted on the FSIS website.
