A plane passenger was left disgusted after being exposed to the foul smell of parents changing their baby's dirty diaper mid-flight.
'The people in the row in front of me are changing a poopy diaper in their seats,' the original poster - OP for short - wrote on Reddit's Delta subreddit.
'The smell is horrendous. Anyone ever experienced this?
'There's no reason not to do this in the bathroom.'
In subsequent comments, they added that it was a family of five with three kids, the oldest of which looked to be about six years old.
A person took to Reddit to complain that some parents had changed the baby's diaper from their airplane seat rather than in the bathroom (stock image)
The person said that they eventually decided to change seats to escape the stench.
When a flight attendant asked them why they were sitting elsewhere, they explained the situation to them, emphasizing the bad smell.
The flight attendant then spoke to the dad.
'She told the father it was unsanitary and he needed to do that in the bathroom and thankfully he just said ok and didn't throw a fit,' they described.
That seemed to put the situation to rest.
Hundreds reacted to commiserate with the nauseating situation.
'That's 100% something to say to them or to an FA (flight attendant). There's LITERALLY no need to deal with that s**t in the cabin,' one wrote.
'Oh yip, I have experienced this before - family in first row of the cabin (I was in the row behind). The father and the other child [f**ked] off whilst mum changed the diaper. I wear a mask with some vicks vaporub inside it, and it was having a hard time filtering out the stench,' a second recalled of a parallel experience.
The smell was so bad that the person ended up switching seats and alerting a flight attendant, who then spoke to the family
Hundreds took to the comments to commiserate with the stinky situation
'The sad thing was baby was obviously having intestinal problems as mum was changing the diaper once an hour. After awhile I heard someone in the cabin yell out where the f**k is the father, who kept [f**king] off each time.'
'Yes people do this all the time because their logic is well it’s just baby poop. POOP IS POOP it’s disgusting use the damn changing table,' a third argued.
'Experienced this on a night flight. The smell literally woke everybody up. The FA came yelling at the mom telling her she needs to go to the bathroom. But the damage was already done and it took some time to get rid of the smell,' a fourth chimed in.
This has been far from the first instance of drama leaked online tied to children in the air.
DailyMail.com previously reported on an uncomfortable tale in which two adult passengers locked a crying toddler in an airplane bathroom to 'to educate her.'
