Former news anchor Tamsen Fadal revealed that menopause forced to her leave the job last year.

The 53-year-old said she started experiencing symptoms of menopause in 2019 and that they began to affect her on-air skills.

'I had brain fog. I would look at a word and it wouldn't come out of my mouth, or I would wonder if I skipped a word,' the former PIX11 anchor told Page Six

Another episode caused her to nearly faint while she was anchoring the primetime news.

The award-winning broadcaster said she wasn't ashamed to talk about the M-word and how it has affected her. In 2023, she decided to leave her job.

Tamsen Fadal was a news anchor at WPIX for 15-years before she stepping down in 2023 to write a book and film on menopause

Fadal told Page Six: 'If you would've asked me five years ago¿ if I was going to be doing this, I would've said, 'No, I'm going to try to stay as young as I can, so I can stay on TV as long as I can'

'The realization I needed to put my voice into this conversation led me to leave [TV news]. It wasn't that I couldn't do my job anymore but I had a bigger story to tell,' she told Page Six.

'I could't stop talking about it. I couldn't stop studying it. I couldn't top talking to women about it,' she said.

Fadal has a new book publishing next year titled, 'How to Menopause: Take Charge of Your Health, Reclaim Your Life, and Feel Even Better Than Before.'

Menopause is a decline in a woman's reproductive health. Symptoms  can include hot flashes, sleep disruption, lower energy or can affect mood, according to The Mayo Clinic.

'To be where I am today and to be talking about [menopause] and - so proud of the fact that women of this age, and during this time, are making noise, it is pretty incredible,' Fadal said.

She is also working on a documentary, 'The (M) Factor Film,' that is set to premiere on PBS on October 17.

Enthusiastic about her next chapter, Fadal joked: 'It's become my new dinner party conversation.'
