A mom-of-three who spent a whopping $20,000 on filling a room with food that has a 25-year shelf life has revealed that her doomsday preparation is to help keep her children safe if a potential civil war breaks out in America.

Krystal - who didn't disclose her full name - became a social media phenomenon after revealing she had been prepping for 33 years over fears of an emergency.

While speaking to Truly, the mom - who brings her children and husband in as helping hands in her prep room - said that she was ready for any kind of disaster - including the election.

She revealed that she had stocked up on medical supplies, food, tech products and more just in case there was 'another pandemic' or 'World War Three' erupted.

The mom also hit back at haters who criticized her for prepping as she claimed that she always 'hopes for the best,' despite planning for the worst.

She explained: 'When I first started learning how to grow food it was with my grandpa, it's a way of feeling self-reliant to be able to grow what you want to eat.

'Prepping has been something that's been part of my life since I was a really small child. My grandma taught me how to can when I was three years old and I've continued doing it for the last 33 years.'

She then took viewers to her prepping room, which was where she kept hundreds of cans of food that have a '25-year' shelf life.

Krystal said: 'I'm a doomsday prepper and I prep for everything whether the grid was to collapse and the power turns off, if there's another pandemic, Civil War, civil unrest or World War III, we always prepare for the worst case scenario and we always hope for the best case.'

In addition to food, Krystal keeps medications, inhalers and tech products in the room.

She also revealed that the family even got a machine that helped them freeze dry products.

The family revealed that they had enough food for an entire year in their prep room.

'So I've spent about $20,000 on prepping over the last 10 years, however, I've saved thousands of dollars growing and preserving my own food,' the mom said.

'Everything on here is always in rotation so when we run out of something upstairs, we actually pull from this room.'

Krystal then showed viewers where the family keeps their guns as well as their backpacks, which are packed with needed supplies for them to just grab them and dash.

She admitted that she often got hate online, but 'doesn't read [her] comments.'

Krystal's friend confessed that when she first heard that her pal had been prepping, she thought she was 'bats**t crazy.'

However, after the pandemic, her pal joined in and began prepping herself.

Krystal noted that there was a ton of 'civil unrest' right now due to the upcoming election - adding that she wanted to keep her family safe.
