Jenn Tran sobbed hard as she watched back her ill-fated proposal to Devin Strader on Tuesday's live, three-hour season finale of The Bachelorette on ABC.
The 26-year-old physician assistant student from Hillsdale, New Jersey, cried watching herself propose in Hawaii to Devin, 28, a freight company owner from Houston.
Jenn, the first Asian-American in the lead role in the Bachelor franchise, told Devin she wanted to grow old with him. Devin kissed Jenn, said 'absolutely,' and then got down on his knees and proposed back to Jenn, and she said yes, too.
'Jenn, I'm so sorry,' show host Jesse Palmer, 45, said during the live portion of the season 21 finale broadcast from Los Angeles.
'We had left Hawaii engaged,' Jenn said, sobbing. 'It was the happiest day of my life. I thought I had found the person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.'

Jenn said as soon as they left Hawaii, things were different. She said Devin started to pull away, and she felt secondary to his life. She said, crying, that Devin called her and broke off the engagement.
'He had basically said that he didn't love me anymore and didn't feel the same way,' Jenn said. 'He regretted getting engaged.'
Jesse said he was shocked. Jenn said she didn't understand what changed, and she last saw him a month ago.
Devin came out, and Jenn told him that she could try to understand someone who changed their mind, but couldn't understand him ending the engagement on a phone call. She said it was disrespectful that she saw the next day he followed Maria on Instagram.
'It completely invalidated our entire relationship,' Jenn said.
'Obviously, I failed you,' Devin said. 'Everything I felt for you was real.'
Devin said when he left the show, he had a lot of doubts. Jenn said he hid all his feelings of doubt.
'I was regretfully late on letting you know,' Devin said, eliciting groans from the audience.

Jenn to show her dedication to their relationship decided to decide to Devin
'I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you,' Jenn said. 'You had one foot out the door the entire time.'
Devin said he felt he couldn't live up to her expectations and what she deserved.
Jesse told Jenn that he knew her love story didn't unfold the way she wanted and that he was sorry. Jesse then played her proposal to Devin and Jenn cried watching it back.
The show opened on the final week in Hawaii with Jenn saying she was in love with both Devin and Marcus Shoberg, 32, an Army Ranger veteran from Cloquet, Minnesota. Her family had flown in to support her. Jenn told her parents that Devin had already told her that he loved her, but Marcus hadn't said it yet.
Devin was the first to meet her family.
'Have you ever dated an Asian girl before?' Jenn's mother Trinh asked Devin.
Devin said he hadn't, but there was no question in his mind that Jenn was the person for him. Devin said it would 'kill him' if he was not the final man.
Jenn's brother James said he was not sure about Devin.

'You guys are a great match,' James said. 'At the same time, there is another guy.'
Devin told James that Jenn made him so happy and wanted to get his blessing. James said he couldn't give his blessing until he talked to the second guy.
'How much did they torture you?' Jenn asked Devin later. 'I never felt like this before, and I love you.'
Next, Marcus met with Jenn's family. James worried if Marcus hadn't said he loved his sister if she was following her pattern of falling for emotionally unavailable men. Marcus told them about how his biological parents just dropped him off at daycare and never came back.
'That started my journey in the foster care system,' Marcus said. 'We were orphans for a while, and two of my sisters were adopted, and I was adopted with my sister that is a year younger than me into a different family.'
Marcus said he spent eight years in combat. James asked if his life experiences have held him back from getting close to Jenn.
'I want to get there for her,' Marcus said. 'The feelings I have for your daughter are real.'
'So you are not ready for engagement,' Jenn's mother Trinh said.
Jenn told her brother that she felt Marcus was close to getting there, but was held back by his trauma. James said Marcus seemed to fit her mold of men who were emotionally unavailable. Jenn hugged Marcus and said she loved him.
'I know,' Marcus said.
Jesse listened as Jenn explained how her relationship deteriorated after the engagement
Jenn then met Devin for their final date. They met spiritual guides and took part in a Hawaiian ceremony about letting go of the past and embracing the future. Jenn said she wanted to get rid of her fear of abandonment because of her father not being present.
'It's something that I don't want to be afraid of in the future,' Jenn said.
Jenn and Devin threw their rocks into the ocean and then dunked themselves. Jenn and Devin kissed. On their final night together, Devin told Jenn that she was the most important thing in his life and 'love the thought of forever with you.' Devin gave her a gift he had gotten from the shaman from their first date.
'I love you,' Jenn said.
'There's like no holding back with him,' Jenn said in a confessional.
The next day, Jenn went on her final date with Marcus. Jesse, who starred on season five of The Bachelor in 2004, checked on Marcus before the date. Marcus shared about feeling conflicted and wondering if Jenn and he were meant for each other. Marcus said he felt that their connection was getting stronger.
'I just want Jenn to be happy,' Marcus said. 'I care about her deeply.'
He told Jesse that he had never been so torn. Jesse said he thought he would lose Jenn if he didn't tell her that he loved her.
'I need answers from Marcus, and I'm not going to wait any longer,' Jenn said in a confessional before she was seen walking to Marcus's hotel door.
Jenn said she didn't know where his head was at.
'I don't know if you see me in your future,' Jenn said.
'I think it's just that it's scary for me,' Marcus said. 'I'm struggling, for sure.'
'I don't know how I'm supposed to process this,' Jenn said.
'I want to keep trying,' Marcus said. 'I think it's been confusing for me. I just don't understand why it's so scary for me to move forward or think about that with someone I care so much about.'
'I've been investing so much into us, Marcus,' Jenn said.
Marcus started crying.
'At the end of the day, I know that I love you,' Marcus said. 'I want to do this with you. I want to give it a try. I don't want to give up on us.'
Marcus told Jenn he realized he was not giving her what she needed. Jenn said she gave so much to him, and she was 'done hinging my future on someone being afraid to lose me, I'm done waiting around for someone to get there, I'm just done.'
Jenn told him she had so much hope for them as Marcus wept. Jenn said she deserved a person that gave as much as she gave. She thanked Marcus for being honest with her and hugged him. Jenn hugged him and said goodbye to him and left his room.
'I didn't expect that,' Marcus said, crying. 'I honestly don't know what to say right now.'
Marcus later joined the live show and told Jesse it was tough to watch back, but he realized he wasn't giving Jenn what she needed.
