Georgia school on lockdown amid reports of an 'active shooter'

A Georgia school has been placed on lockdown following reports of an active shooter.

Apalachee High School in Winder in Barrow County was put on hard lockdown Wednesday morning, Fox 5 Atlanta reported. 

The news outlet said it has received multiple calls about a shooting, which remains unconfirmed. 

Apalachee High School is one of two high schools in the district and has about 1,900 students.
