With the MAGA masses erupting into cheers, the ever-poised Melania, dressed in a perfectly tailored Dior skirt-suit, flashed a modest smile and waved.

Boosting the notion that either Tim Walz was a bad pick as running mate for Kamala Harris or that running mates just don't matter in presidential elections - the Minnesota governor's home district was won by Republican President-elect Donald Trump.
Trump won Minnesota’s rural Blue Earth County by a margin of 49.6 percent to 48.3 percent over Harris, marking a swing of 5.7 percent from four years ago.
That despite Walz having lived there for two decades and launching his political career in the area, the National Review noted Thursday.
He flipped Minny's 1st Congressional District - which includes the county - in 2006 and served as its congressman for 12 years. But he shifted from a moderate Democrat to progressive governor, and that likely didn't play well in the rural area where his homespun nature is more commonplace.
And since debuting as Harris' VP choice at the DNC in Chicago over the summer, Walz ran into a string of campaign missteps - having to backtrack and cleanup on comments he made about doing away with the Electoral College, saying he had 'become friends with school shooters' in a colossal debate gaffe against rival J.D. Vance and falsely claiming that he 'carried ... weapons of war' in combat, among other.
In addition, DailyMail.com revealed details of a 'secret fling' he carried on with a Communist China woman back when he was a teacher on the Chinese mainland in 1989.
Nigel Farage, the British politician, has declared Barron Trump played a 'big part' in his father's historic election win.
The 6ft 9inches teenager was described by Farage, a friend of Trump's, as 'very bright' as they posed together in an image shared on X today.
The 18-year-old, who was seen standing a head above the rest of the Republican cohort as they took to the stage at Trump's victory speech at West Palm Beach, has been credited for helping the youth vote.
The youngest son of the returning president has not appeared regularly by his father's side at his rallies across the country.
But instead he has played a behind-the-scenes role in getting former President Donald Trump to appear on podcasts favored by Gen Z and millennial men, ABC News reports.
Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has ruled himself out of the running to be Donald Trump's White House Chief of Staff.
The Republican was touted as a favorite to take the job as speculation mounted in the run-up to the election.
But he quashed the rumors in an interview with the Guy Benson show on Thursday.
'People always ask if I'm going to be chief of staff, no I'm not going to be...that's a no,' he said.
He added that Trump’s campaign manager Susie Wiles would be 'great' in the position.

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is warning that the United States may be entering an era of 'fascism and authoritarianism' as the country prepares for President-elect Donald Trump to return to power.
The 35-year-old liberal New York congresswoman hopped on Instagram Wednesday to speak with her followers about the election results where she painted an extremely bleak picture for the country's future.
The 'Squad' member said the U.S. is entering a political period that will have consequences 'for the rest of our lives.'
'We find ourselves I believe in a time where there are lets say peers in history of massive movements of people that mobilize to protect one another in times of fascism and authoritarianism. And this is the era that we are poised to enter,' AOC said.
The President's address has now ended in what was a short message to the nation.
He concluded his press conference with a kiss to the crowd and a message to supporters not to give up.
He ended by saying:
We're going to be okay, but we need to stay engaged. We need to keep the faith. God bless you all and America.
President Biden said there would be a peaceful transfer of power and reiterated he had reached out to Donald Trump following his victory.
He said he will do his duty for the remaining 74 days of his term.

President Joe Biden is addressing the nation in the White House Rose Garden this morning.
It comes after the tremendous defeat of Vice President Kamala Harris to his political rival, former President Donald Trump.
Biden is following in the footsteps of former President Barack Obama - who also addressed the American public from the White House after Trump defeated his former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election.
President Joe Biden has called Donald Trump to congratulate him for his dominant victory over Kamala Harris and invited him to the White House.
The 81-year-old commander-in-chief extended the olive branch to the president-elect a week after calling his supporters 'garbage' and hours after he was confirmed as his successor.
The White House confirmed Biden and Trump spoke on the phone on Wednesday afternoon and 'emphasized the importance of working to bring the country together' as well as a 'smooth transition'.
It was a similar tone Kamala Harris took when she called the 78-year-old to finally concede the election after Trump swept the majority of the swing states.
Trump and Biden frequently exchanged very personal jabs during the campaign, with the Republican targeting the president's decline and the Democrat saying he was the sort of person he would like to 'smack in the a**'.

Presidential election results are still unknown in the western swing states of Nevada and Arizona.
The Associated Press has still not called the race one way or the other as of Thursday morning – though it doesn’t matter since Trump has more than enough Electoral College votes to take a victory without the two states.
With 90 percent of the vote counted in Nevada, Trump is ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris by 3.8 percent.
And with 69 percent tabulated in Arizona, Trump leads by 5.5 percent.
With the other 48 states already counted, Trump has won the 2024 election with 295 Electoral College votes so far.
A respected Iowa pollster who became a liberal hero for predicting a Kamala Harris win in the red state has admitted her research was completely wrong.
J. Ann Selzer, a famed pollster previously known for her accurate predictions in Iowa, told the Des Moines Register on Tuesday she was 'thinking about how we got where we are.'
'The poll findings we produced for The Des Moines Register and Mediacom did not match what the Iowa electorate ultimately decided in the voting booth today,' she said.
'I’ll be reviewing data from multiple sources with hopes of learning why that happened, and I welcome what that process might teach me.'
Selzer's poll for the Register and Mediacom days before the election predicted Harris would win by +3 percentage points.
But Donald Trump went on to trounce the vice president by over +13 points in the Hawkeye State.
Devastated Democrats have rounded on George Clooney after the actor demanded that Joe Biden quit before Donald Trump's election victory.
A furious blame game has erupted in the wake of Trump's emphatic win over rival Kamala Harris, with lifelong Democrat Clooney being especially criticised for his influence during the election.
The Ocean's Eleven actor, 63, notably penned an op-ed for the New York Times in July where he called on Biden, 81, to abandon his presidential campaign, writing: 'We are not going to win in November with this president.'

Donald Trump's campaign pollster said there was one key difference between the candidate who lost in 2020 and who won in 2024: He had tasted the bitterness of defeat and was prepared to do whatever necessary to retake the White House.
So when John McLaughlin and key campaign figures developed a strategy to cut off the four demographic pillars supporting Democrats, he was listening.
'Trump, is still Trump, but if you told him something you know that he needed to do to win he was gonna do it,' McLaughlin told DailyMail.com.

A devastated Kamala Harris told her scores of tearful fans to keep fighting as she conceded election defeat to Donald Trump in Washington, D.C.
The emotional vice president admitted 'this is not what we wanted' as she took the stage at Howard University, almost 12 hours after the race was officially called for the former president.
Harris, however, also vowed to help with the peaceful transfer of power even as she said she would continue the battle after Trump's dominant victory.

The people surrounding Joe Biden blame Nancy Pelosi for Kamala Harris' election loss as Democrats have begun to bicker over who caused the party's disaster.
It came as the president, 82, reacted to Harris' concession speech at Howard University Wednesday.
The blame game went into overdrive last night, as Biden confidantes told senior White House reporters they hold the former Speaker of the House responsible for him being pushed out of the race.

Joe Biden will today address the nation from the White House in his first public appearance since vice-president Kamala Harris' loss to Donald Trump.
The President will speak from the Rose Garden at 11am Eastern Time.
Yesterday, Biden gave his reaction to Harris' teary-eyed concession speech.
He said:
What America saw today was the Kamala Harris I know and deeply admire. She's been a tremendous partner and public servant full of integrity, courage, and character.
The Democrats will be hoping to win four seats in California which could prove crucial in preventing a Republican supermajority in Congress.
But as of today, the Republican candidates are ahead in all the race although some of the leads are tight.
Here's the state of play:
Keep track of the 2024 election with our catalogue of maps and charts that show Donald Trump's dominant victory over Kamala Harris.
We also have the full Senate and House of Representative results which will be updated as soon as races are called.
If Republicans win back the House, they would control the legislative, executive, and the judicial branches of the federal government fully during Trump's first years in office, giving him sweeping control after he was voted out just four years ago.
Trump has revealed what his first day priorities will be. The Trump-led GOP also may look to pass legislation to make Trump's tariff proposals a reality.
Republicans may also take more robust action against transgender issues involving schools and sports, which Trump and the GOP have spoken about often on the campaign trails.
Already with control of the Senate Republicans will be able to dictate approvals of federal judges and cabinet positions like Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense.
If a Supreme Court vacancy arrises, the Senate handles that, too.
During Trump's last presidency the Senate was controlled by the GOP, and the former president was able to help appoint three of the court's nine sitting justices - which has had a major impact on the ideological slant of the body.
Though Republicans have been named the winners of the White House and Senate, some races in the House of Representatives may take days if not weeks to call.
Donald Trump was projected as the winner of the 2024 election by the Associated Press at 5:34 am ET on Wednesday morning after the outlet declared the Republican had won the critical swing state of Wisconsin.
The GOP also gained control over the Senate after flipping multiple seats red, with some races still yet to be finalized and pick-up opportunities still on the table.
Republicans now need to maintain control over the House to have a full supermajority in Washington, D.C., which would have major consequences for Democrats.
