Donald Trump said he will take a 'very hard stance' on Gaza if all hostages aren't freed by Hamas by Saturday at noon.
However, he said it will be 'up to Bibi' and Israel to determine what to do if they are not returned.
'I don't know what's going to happen at 12 o'clock. If it was up to me, I'd take a very hard stance. I can't tell you what Israel is going to do,' Trump said in the Oval Office.
Earlier this week, he said that 'all hell will break out' if they aren't freed by the deadline.

Trump confirms Keir Starmer visit in the next week or two
By Nikki Schwab, Chief Campaign Correspondent at the White House
President Donald Trump on Friday confirmed that he would meet with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer at the White House in the next week or two.
During a back-and-forth in the Oval Office Trump said that Starmer had requested the meeting and he had obliged.
'I just signed a letter to him. He asked for a meeting and I agreed to the meeting - we're going to have - a friendly meeting - we have a lot of good things going on. But he asked to come and see me and I just accepted his ask,' Trump told reporters.
The president said the meeting would happen 'very soon.'
'I think he wants to come next week or the week after,' Trump said.
Trump has already hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, Jordanian King Abdullah II and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the White House since his January 20 swearing-in.

White House moves to further ban the Associated Press due to its refusal to use 'Gulf of America'
By Nikki Schwab, Chief Campaign Correspondent at the White House
On Friday the White House further moved to curb the Associated Press' access over the wire service's refusal to change AP style from the Gulf of Mexico to President Donald Trump's preferred 'Gulf of America.'
Cabinet Secretary Taylor Budowich charged on X that the AP was ignoring 'the lawful geographic name change of the Gulf of America.'
'This decision is not just divisive, but it also exposes the Associated Press' commitment to misinformation,' Budowich wrote. 'While their right to irresponsible and dishonest reporting is protected by the First Amendment, it does not ensure their privilege of unfettered access to limited spaces, like the Oval Office and Air Force One.'
The White House banned the AP from going into 'pooled' events in the Oval Office this week and from Thursday's press conference with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which was open to the broader White House press corps.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt refused to call on the AP - which traditionally gets the first question - during her sole briefing of the week on Wednesday.
The president was received reporters in the Oval Office Friday afternoon before traveling to Mar-a-Lago for the weekend.
AP's reporter and photographer were barred from entry and their reporter at Joint Base Andrews was told she wouldn't be allowed to travel on board Air Force One.
The AP would typically have access to both the Oval Office Q&A and the Air Force One trip down to West Palm Beach.
It's one of the permanent wire services that are always part of the presidential 'pool,' the group of reporters that follow the president - a tradition that started after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

White House shares Valentine's Day gram
Love was not in the air for illegal immigrants in the United States.
The White House posted a Valentine's Day card on social media accounts Friday.
It featured President Donalnd Trump and border czar Tom Homan's faces with a pink background.
'Roses are red, violets are blue, come here illegally and we'll deport you,' the message read.
The Valentine - which articulated the Trump administration hardline immigration policy - stood in stark contrast to the candy heart displays former first lady Jill Biden installed on the North Lawn during the last four years.

Trump border boss Tom Homan announces ICE will occupy Rikers Island ... and a surprising new partnership
Donald Trump's Border Czar Tom Homan and Democratic New York City Mayor Eric announced a surprising joint venture to crack down on illegal immigration in the Big Apple.
Sitting side-by-side on Fox & Friends Friday morning the unlikely team, flashing smiles and trading jokes, announced an array of policy objectives to help Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) better operate in the city.
'I've been on this network for four years, and I've called the mayor out many times for not stepping up when it comes to public safety threats,' Homan began the joint interview. 'But I tell you, when I sat down with him, I saw the cop in him, and he really does want to do the right thing.'
Adams welcomed Homan's help, claiming he has tried to fight the city's immigration-related woes for years, adding 'we need to go after these dangerous people in our streets, and now I have someone that understands that narrative, and we are fighting together to get it done.'
The friendly duo then shared some initiatives they are planning to help ICE and New York law enforcement get illegal aliens out of town despite roadblocks put up by the city council.
The city's most famous jail, Rikers Island, will now host ICE agents who can collaborate with NYPD to identify dangerous criminals, the pair announced.
'As I sat down with Tom earlier, I said that we're going to look at all the legalese,' Adams said of reestablishing an ICE office at Rikers.
'I'm able to do an executive order to put them back on Rikers Island where they should be with part of our criminal justice apparatus,' the Democrat shared.

Powerful senator says Pete Hegseth made 'rookie mistake' with 'Ukraine borders remark
Powerful Senator Roger Wicker said newly minted Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth made a 'rookie mistake' during his remarks about the war in Ukraine and its borders this week.
Wicker, who chairs the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, spoke with Politico alongside the Munich Security Conference where world leaders are gathered in Germany.
'Hegseth is going to be a great defense secretary, although he wasn’t my choice for the job,' the GOP senator told the publication.
'But he made a rookie mistake in Brussels, and he’s walked back some of what he said but not that line,' Wicker (R-Miss.) added.
Hegseth, a former TV personality turned Pentagon chief, turned heads on Wednesday when he said it was 'unrealistic' for Ukraine to return to its pre-war borders.
He made the comment while speaking with Ukraine military allies at the NATO headquarters in Brussels.
'We want, like you, a sovereign and prosperous Ukraine, but we must start by recognizing that returning to Ukraine’s pre-2014 borders is an unrealistic objective,' he told officials.

Vice President J.D. Vance poked fun at European outrage about Elon Musk's rise to the top of the Trump administration during his blistering speech at the Munich Security Conference Friday.
He took time out from warning European leaders that they were sleeping at the wheel of democracy to defend a man sometimes called the real vice president.
'Trust me, I say this with all humor, if American democracy can survive 10 years of Greta Thunberg's scolding, you guys can survive a few months of Elon Musk,' he said.

Vice President J.D. Vance took his culture war to Europe on Friday, warning that its greatest threat came not from China or Russia but from within as he delivered a blistering attack on what he said was the continent's retreat from its traditional values.
Vance said free speech and democratic institutions were being eroded in an address to the Munich Security Conference.
He accused European politicians of forcing people to shut down social media accounts and urged leaders to do more to stem illegal immigration.
Vance reserved particular scorn for America's closest ally, and the case of a British man arrested after praying near an abortion clinic.
'Europe faces many challenges, but the crisis this continent faces right now, the crisis I believe we all face together, is one of our own making,' he said.

'For 20 years I've gotten up every morning on my knees and prayed that God would put me in a position where I could end the childhood chronic disease epidemic in this country,' Kennedy said in the Oval Office, standing beside Trump.
He went on to praise the 78-year-old president saying he has kept every promise since they met last August.

Trump praises Musk's 'force of super-geniuses' seen entering the IRS as DOGE sets next target
President Donald Trump praised Elon Musk and his army of 'super-geniuses' at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) as they investigate the federal government for waste and fraud.
DOGE lieutenant Gavin Kliger and other employees arrived at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) on Thursday to examine the agency's operations.
'I think the Internal Revenue Service will be looked at like everybody else,' Trump said during remarks in the Oval Office.
He clarified that he did not expect to close the IRS, but wanted DOGE to scrutinize the department's spending.
'They're doing a hell of a job, it's an amazing job they're doing,' Trump said. 'You know that force is building, I call it the force of super-geniuses,' he said.

Trump's EPA boss Lee Zeldin exposes eye-popping $20 billion wasted by Biden during final days in office
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Lee Zeldin has identified where $20 billion of climate-related funds purposefully wasted by the Biden administration landed.
He says Biden cronies dumped millions into a secretive unnamed 'outside financial institution.'
It all came to light in a recent 'disturbing' video showing a Biden EPA political appointee.
The employee bragged abut how the administration was 'tossing gold bars off the Titanic' and rushing to get 'billions of your tax dollars out the door before Inauguration Day,' Zeldin said in a video.

Russia accuses Zelensky of 'staging' Chernobyl attack to blackmail West
Russia has accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of blackmailing the West to receive more aid by staging a 'provocation' over the attack on Chernobyl.
Before speaking at the Munich conference this morning, Zelensky declared a Russian drone had caused significant damage to the radiation containment shelter at the plant.
Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, accused Zelenskiy of orchestrating the alleged drone attack to coincide with the Munich event as part of a lobbying effort to secure more weapons and money from the West.
There was never any doubt that Zelenskiy would not come to the Munich conference empty-handed... The hands of the Kyiv regime must always be busy with some children's rattles to distract the attention of the conference participants. Zelenskiy travels with performances that are backed up by provocations
Is there any doubt in anyone's mind that this is a provocation? There can be no doubt. A performance was needed to lobby for arms deliveries and convince the world public. A scary, bloody and very dangerous performance.

Vance references Munich attack as he warns Europe faces migration crisis
The Vice President referenced the attack in Munich yesterday when more than 30 people were injured after an Afghan asylum seeker drove into crowds of people protesting in the city.
Vance said that while he and Trump would pray for the victims, incidents such as this were becoming too common and urged officials to stem illegal immigration.
He said the crisis now facing Europe is of its own making, describing the rate of migration as an 'all time high' following decisions made by politicians over the course of a decade.

Vance - Free speech in retreat across Europe
JD Vance has now spoken at the Munich Security Conference where he said he feared free speech was 'in retreat' across Europe.
Referring to Donald Trump as the 'new sheriff in town', the Vice President said that while the US and Germany may disagree, he said Trump will fight for the right to speak freely.
Going on to discuss the challenges facing Europe, Vance said the felt among the biggest was 'from within' as he described how 'fundamental values' such as free speech were being lost.
The threat that I worry the most about vis-a-vis Europe is not Russia. It's not China, it's not any other external actor. And what I worry about is the threat from within. The retreat of Europe from some of its most fundamental values.

Trump envoy rejects claim President only wants to speak to Putin
Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, has rejected allegations the U.S. President is only interested in negotiating a peace deal with Vladimir Putin.
The build-up to the Munich Security Conference has been dominated by deep concern that Washington and Moscow are working towards a bad peace deal for Ukraine, forcing it to cede territory to Russia and denying it a chance to join NATO.
Mr Kellogg has met with the Ukrainian presidency's chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, and apparently emphasised Russia and Ukraine will need to sit down to agree any settlement, rejecting allegations that Trump only wants to negotiate with Putin.
'The main topic of conversation was the coordination of joint efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace' in Ukraine, Yermak said in a post on social media.
Russian President 'Putin never plays by the rules, Russians respect only force and despise those who do not use it,' he added.

'Hallelujah': How Viktor Orbán reacted to Trump-Putin talks
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has welcomed possible talks between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, saying he hoped it could lead to Russia's reintegration into Europe’s economic, security and energy systems.
Speaking on his regular interview with state broadcaster Kossuth Radio, Orbán was asked about Trump's ambition to resolve the Ukraine-Russia conflict by dealing with both President Putin and Zelensky.
If I were to comment on it in one word, I would say ‘Hallelujah.’ That’s what we’ve been waiting for.
Orbán, who is one of Putin's closest European allies, then added:
If the American president comes, creates peace, and an agreement is reached, then I think Russia will be reintegrated into the global economy, reintegrated into the European security system, and even into the European energy security system.
This will give a huge boost to the Hungarian economy, it is a great opportunity, we will gain a lot from peace.

German President - Trump's White House has no regard for rules or trust
Donald Trump's administration has no regard for 'established' rules and trust, Germany's President has told the Munich Security Conference.
Frank-Walter Steinmeier made the remarks in the latest criticism of the U.S. today.
The new American administration has a very different world view to ours. One that has no regard for established rules, partnership and established trust.
The German head of state urged European leaders to keep calm in the face of a blizzard of disruptive policy announcements from Washington since Trump returned to the White House.
We must not allow ourselves to be paralysed by the flood of announcements. We must not freeze in fear, or as the English saying goes: Let's not be a deer caught in the headlights. A lack of rules must not become the model for a reorganisation of the world.
Earlier, a German government spokesman said Vice President JD Vance should refrain from interfering in the upcoming elections.

Could Europe withstand Russian attack WITHOUT US support?
Concern that US President Donald Trump could withdraw from NATO has sparked fears over whether Europe's armed forces could withstand an attack from Russia without American support.
Trump has not yet spoken on the possibility of a US withdrawal from the Western-led security bloc, but former US ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton told LBC yesterday that such a scenario is 'highly probable'.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration expects European members to shoulder the responsibility for the long-term security of Ukraine as the White House focuses on a showdown with China.
Currently, 23 of 32 NATO countries are meeting the agreed-upon target of spending at least 2% of their GDP on defence.
But Trump has suggested this figure should be raised to 5% while his Vice President JD Vance this week reiterated expectations for European NATO members to manage their own security without an American safety blanket.
Bolton said setting such high defence spending targets was an example of Trump 'setting preconditions that will justify' a withdrawal from NATO.
Breaking:Saudi Arabia welcomes chance to host Trump-Putin talks
Saudi Arabia has declared its support for U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to meet in the country for talks to end the Ukraine-Russia war.

In case you're just joining us, we have been reporting live updates from the Munich Security Conference where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he does not believe the U.S. has a peace plan to end the war with Russia.
Earlier this week, Donald Trump caused shockwaves when he declared he had spoken to Vladimir Putin about resolving the three-year conflict.

U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth is also in Europe and told an audience in Poland that Americans cannot be relied upon forever as he was asked how long troops would remain in the continent

Germans tell Vance to keep out of our elections
JD Vance appears not to have endeared himself to Germany during his visit to Munich this week as a government spokesperson urged the Vice President to refrain from interfering in the upcoming elections.
The Wall Street Journal had cited Vance as saying he would urge German politicians to work with all parties, including the far-right Alternative for Germany, which other parties have refused to cooperate with.
The snap poll takes place in Germany on February 23.
A government spokesperson said:
I don't think it is right for foreigners, including those from friendly foreign countries, to interfere so intensively in an election campaign in the middle of an election period.
It is good practice for the citizens of a country to decide who they vote for and what their principles are, and not to take advice from others.
Vance is the latest top U.S. official to make comments about Germany's politics after billionaire businessman Elon Musk criticised Chancellor Olaf Scholz and backed the AfD.

Vance - NATO needs to step so we can focus on China
Speaking earlier today at the Munich Security Conference, JD Vance reiterated Trump's demand for European nations to contribute more financially to NATO so the U.S. can focus on challenges posed by China.
The Vice President started his day in the German city by meeting eparately with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and British foreign secretary David Lammy.
He used the engagements to reiterate the Republican Trump administration's call for NATO members to spend more on defense. Currently, 23 of NATO's 32 member nations are hitting the Western military alliance's target of spending 2% of the nation's GDP on defense.
'NATO is a very important military alliance, of course, that we're the most significant part of,' Vance told Rutte.
But we want to make sure that NATO is actually built for the future, and we think a big part of that is ensuring that NATO does a little bit more burden sharing in Europe, so the United States can focus on some of our challenges in East Asia.
Rutte said he agreed that Europe needs to step up. 'We have to grow up in that sense and spend much more,' he said

Taking Ukraine's NATO membership off the table was 'mistake', say Germans
Germany's defence secretary has told the Munich Security Conference it was a mistake to take Ukraine's NATO membership off the table as well as territorial concessions before peace negotiations started.
Describing the US offer as 'clumsy,' Pistorius said:
It would have been much better to talk about possible Nato membership and territorial changes at the negotiating table.
Boris Pistorius warned Vladimir Putin 'hasn't moved an inch' and added European countries are not in a position to provide 'credible deterrence' in Ukraine without the help of the U.S.
In remarks that will undoubtedly play positively in the U.S, Pistorius also called on NATO members to increase spending, adding 'nobody believes' the current level of investment at 2% of GDP is enough.

Pete Hegseth - US presence in Europe may not 'last forever'
While Zelensky was speaking in Europe, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has been speaking in Warsaw where he reiterated the propsect of Ukraine's membership to NATO as part of a negotiated settlement was 'unlikely'.
Hegseth said it was his job to 'introduce realism to the conversation' as he again called on European nations to increase defence spending commitments.
Asked if U.S. will maintain the level of troops it currently has in Europe, Hegseth said he could not commit to them being there indefinitely.
He said:
You can't make an assumption that America's presence will last forever. America has to stare down a lot of threats to include the communist Chinese. As of today, we are very proud of our partnership in Europe.

Zelensky calls for NATO membership after Trump suggested it was unrealistic
Zelensky told the Munich Security Conference that European nations must unite around Ukraine to protect themselves and that he wants his country to be part of NATO.
Speaking in Munich, Ukraine's President said: 'We want to be in Nato, yes. We trust Nato's security guarantees. I think this is the cheapest option for everyone.'
But Ukraine's membership was placed in doubt by President Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth who suggested it was unrealistic.
'I don't see any way that a country in Russia's position could allow ... them to join NATO,' Trump said on Thursday. 'I don't see that happening.'
Earlier on Friday, Zelensky received a boost when British Prime Minister Keir Starmer declared Ukraine should be on 'irreversible path to NATO'.

JD Vance - Europe should have say in Ukraine-Russia peace talks
The U.S. Vice President has said European countries should join any talks for a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia.
Vance made the intervention at the Munich Security Conference amid alarm nations could be excluded from such talks following a direct call between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Asked by a reporter on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference whether Europe should be involved in negotiations along with the United States, Russia and Ukraine, Vance said: 'Sure they should. Of course.'

Ukraine claims Russian drone hits Chernobyl power plant
President Zelensky's remarks in Munich come after he claimed Russia launched a drone attack on the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant overnight significantly damaging a radiation shelter.
Zelensky said on X that a Russian attack drone 'with a high-explosive warhead struck the shelter protecting the world from radiation at the destroyed 4th power unit of the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant.'
He said the shelter was damaged but that the fire has since been extinguished. The cover is used to prevent radiation after the 1986 nuclear disaster which sent a radioactive cloud across Europe.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported an 'explosion' at the site and said it is continuing to monitor the plant, but added that radiation levels have not increased and remain stable.
CCTV footage posted by the Ukrainian leader showed a blast on the side of the Chernobyl structure in footage that was timestamped 02:02 am (0002 GMT).
The video also showed a fire erupting and hole in the roof, with firefighters using a hose to extinguish the blaze from the inside of the dome.

Russia not sending officials to Munich
Russia has declared none of its officials will attend the Munich Security Conference because the country was not invited to the event.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stressed Russia's position at a weekly news briefing this morning.
Zakharova said the conference had changed in nature over the years and gone from being a security event to become an event supporting the 'regime in Kyiv' and an event which she said was involved with implementing security policies that were destructive for Europe's own security.
It comes as the U.S. seeks to advance a peace agreement to end the three year war between Russia and Ukraine.
10:54
Zelensky says he 'does not know' about any Russia meeting
Speaking to reporters, Zelensky added he was unaware about a touted meeting with Russians at the Munich Security Conference.

Vance told the Wall Street Journal that ‘everything is on the table’ in an effort to guarantee Kyiv's long-term independence as Trump prepares to meet with his Russian counterpart and iron out a deal.
'There are economic tools of leverage, there are of course military tools of leverage' the U.S. could use against Putin,' Vance told the newspaper.
Vance teased the prospect of a peace plan while insisting that the president would not hold back when it came to negotiating with Putin.
'The president is not going to go in this with blinders on. He´s going to say, "Everything is on the table, let´s make a deal,"' Vance said.
'I think there is a deal that is going to come out of this that´s going to shock a lot of people.'
