Fans hoping for an update on Travis Kelce's retirement verdict are going to have to be patient after it emerged there will be no New Heights episode this week.

Kelce, 35, is weighing up whether to play on for the Kansas City Chiefs after an emphatic loss in the Super Bowl to Philadelphia Eagles rounded out an underwhelming individual season with a crushing defeat.

The tight end has seemingly gone to ground since last week's episode, where at times he became emotional as he spoke to older brother and co-host Jason about what the future might hold.

'No new episode this week, but WE'LL BE BACK with offseason episodes and amazing guests soon,' the podcast said on their X account on Tuesday.

Speaking last week on the show, Kelce sounded more out than in but admitted he was everything when it came to deciding for certain if his playing days were done.

'I know everybody wants to know whether or not I'm playing next year, and right now I'm just kicking everything down the road. I'm kicking every can I can down the road,' he said.

'I'm not making any crazy decisions [yet]. Right now the biggest thing is just being there for my teammates and being there for my coaches, understanding there's a lot that goes into this thing.'

He continued: 'The fact that we keep going to these AFC Championships and these Super Bowls, that means I'm playing an extra three games than everybody else in the entire league.

'That's a lot of wear and tear on your body and it's a lot of time spent in the building, focusing on your craft, focusing on the task at hand, every challenge that you set up for yourself. That process can be grueling, it can weigh on you.

'It can make you better [but] it can drive you crazy at the same time, and right now it's one of those things where it was kind of driving me crazy this year. It happens when you kind of tail off towards the back nine of your career.

'When you feel yourself not have the success that you used to have, it's a tough pill to swallow.'

Since that episode, the legendary tight end has not been seen.

It has been reported that girlfriend Taylor Swift has been supporting Kelce since the 40-22 loss to the Eagles in New Orleans.

A source was recently quoted by Page Six as saying: 'Taylor knows Travis took this loss very hard but she couldn’t be more proud of him regardless of the outcome.

'They are looking forward to enjoying some downtime. They knew that Taylor’s Eras Tour would be wrapping in December and football season would be coming to an end now so they had planned for this time to focus on some alone time to just be together.

'Taylor and Travis are going to take some time away to vacation with just the two of them, talk about their future and just relax.'
