Eli Manning has once again narrowly missed out on the Pro Football Hall of Fame, according to reports.
The former New York Giants quarterback - a two-time Super Bowl champion - made the 15-man list of modern-era finalists for the second straight year.
But just hours after it emerged that Bill Belichick had been snubbed, the Athletic reported that Manning would have to wait at least another year.
The decision sparked outrage among many football fans. 'The NFL hall of fame continues to embarrass itself,' one wrote on social media.
'After they snubbed Belichick I really don’t expect anything,' another said. 'The HOF needs new voters,' added a third.
'Outrageous. Hall of fame about to vote itself into irrelevance,' said a fourth.
