Iconic Denver Nuggets coach Doug Moe has died at the age of 87.
Moe was at the helm in Denver between 1980 and 1990. He also had three separate stints as assistant coach of the franchise.
He racked up a remarkable 432 wins as head coach of the Nuggets, reaching the playoffs in nine consecutive seasons and winning Coach of the Year in 1987-88.
During a coaching career that spanned 36 years, Moe also spent time with the Carolina Cougars, the San Antonio Spurs and the Philadelphia 76ers.
On Tuesday, the Nuggets paid a heartfelt tribute to a 'one-of-a-kind' leader.
'The Denver Nuggets organization was devastated to learn of the passing of legendary coach Doug Moe,' the team said in a statement.
'Coach Moe was a one of a kind leader and person who spearheaded one of the most successful and exciting decades in Nuggets history.
'He will forever be loved and remembered by Nuggets fans and his banner commemorating his 432 career victories as head coach will hang in the rafters to forever honor his incredible legacy.
'The organization's thoughts are with Doug's wife Jane, his son David and all of his family and loved ones who are hurting in this moment.'
